Naloxone Over-The-Counter (OTC)
Some brands of nasal spray naloxone are available to purchase over-the-counter (OTC) from pharmacies, big box retailers, and online. Purchasing naloxone OTC costs about $45 for a kit with two doses. You can also check with your health insurance plan to see if they cover naloxone.
Free Community-Based Programs
Now that some naloxone brands are available over-the-counter, many community organizations are distributing free naloxone either to people directly or through vending machines/naloxone boxes. Examples of places that provide free naloxone include public health agencies, substance use prevention and treatment agencies, recovery community centers, and more.
