For Pharmacies
Protocols for participating in the Iowa Community Pharmacy Naloxone Program are currently being updated. For any questions during this time, please contact the Board of Pharmacy in the Department of Inspections, Appeals, & Licensing.

Pharmacies in Iowa are encouraged to continue their participation in the Iowa Community Pharmacy Naloxone Program. Pharmacies will be reimbursed $45 per kit, for both over-the-counter and prescription nasal spray naloxone. The Dispense Fee for Naloxone products will be $20.

Pharmacies may submit electronic claims to Rx BIN: 019538/Rx PCN: MD1 with group number SIA0001.

Any random number may be used for a patient ID (e.g., patient’s DOB in reverse, date of service, etc.).

When you get naloxone, your provider will give you instructions on how to use it. For your reference, this video also shows you how naloxone saves lives.
